The Townswomen Guild was founded in 1928 by Eva Hubback and Margery Corbett Ashby, who saw a need for an organisation aimed at ordinary women living in the towns and cities.
The first Guild opened in 1929 in Haywards Heath. For further information go to: www.the-tg.com
The TG is a platform for women to be active in a social setting and as a community action group at national and local levels. The local guilds support fellowship and friendship, which Townswomen have always experienced, now and for future generations. The needs and aspirations of each generation change but friendships will always be essential for a fulfilling and rewarding life.
